My name is Jumaine Jones. I am an author, speaker, pastor, husband, and father. I was born and raised in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. I am also the founder and Lead Pastor of The Bridge, a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church in Silver Spring, MD. I currently live in the Washington D.C. area with my wife Dafnette and our lovely daughter, Jaliyah.
If you’re like most people, your life is filled with challenges and responsibilities. Very often, they can pull us away from crafting meaningful relationships. I have seen the role vital meaningful relationships play in being successful in every area of my life. This is why I am passionate about helping people experience healthy and thriving relationships. Much of our life revolves around relationships. Therefore, healthy relationships are essential to experiencing a healthy life.
My desire to see individuals experience healthy relationships in the area of romance led me to write my first book, Lost In Love: Navigating the Five Relationship Terrains.
Throughout most of our marriage, Dafnette and I struggled to bear children. Our infertility journey taught us the importance of having healthy relationships with God, others, and each other. After struggling with infertility for over eleven years, we were finally able to conceive and give birth to our beautiful daughter, Jaliyah.
I graduated from University of Maryland, College Park in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. I then completed my Masters of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary in 2000. I’ve had the opportunity to teach at various churches, conferences, and events both inside and outside the United States. I enjoy traveling, music, photography, coffee, dining, and meeting new people.
